Idea Exchange
The ExLibris Idea Exchange is an open website where institutional users can submit, review and vote for ideas. It aims to facilitate communication between the user community and the ExLibris product management team, to help the team set development priorities.
Each product possesses it's own subsection within the Idea Exchange as follows:
| Alma Idea Exchange | PrimoVE Idea Exchange | Leganto Idea Exchange | Rialto Idea Exchange |
Any DCU Library staff member is welcome to submit an idea to the exchange. In order to be able to suggest an idea or to vote for existing ideas, you will need to provide your name and institutional email address - here choose the "sign-in" option available at the top right-hand-side of the screen. You may sign-in with your existing details, if you are a returning user.
Up to 25 ideas may be submitted by a user with each user possessing an initial 25 points which can be used to vote for ideas.
Ideas garnering high points can influence ExLibris to develop enhancements with possible deployment within their products however the main route to "road-map commitment" by ExLibris lies via the New Enhancements Request System (NERS), see below.
NERS
The IGeLU and ELUNA enhancement voting process (NERS) is the only channel for “road-map commitment,” in accordance with the Product Development Collaboration Agreement signed by Ex Libris, IGeLU, and ELUNA. Institutions are urged to participate in the IGeLU and ELUNA enhancement request process.
The process can involve several rounds of voting, starting in Spring of each year, on a list of enhancements for each ExLibris product via the NERS site. Here each institution possesses 100 votes which can be used on as many selections as desired. The institution must be a member of either IGeLU or ELUNA, with one assigned person at the institution being able to cast votes.
In DCU Library, the NERS process is managed by Digital Services whereby proposed enhancements to Alma, PrimoVE and Leganto are communicated to relevant staff for consideration with subsequent votes being submitted through Digital Services on behalf of the Library.
Details of new enhancements deployed by ExLibris are available via their NERS knowledge articles.
