Because LibraryThing points to items in our Junior Library as well as items on our wish list, always cross-check availability on Library Search
Students preparing for School Placement often ask us for picture books on a theme. LibraryThing showcases books in our Junior Library and on our wish list by theme, topic, even curriculum strand. It is a discovery tool for what children's books are out there and today it points to 5000+ titles. It may be of particular interest to BEds and those studying for a Masters in children's literature.
Collections are themes and topics (see units) we are typically asked for. Here is a sample list of our collections (see our LibraryThing homepage for more!):
Cultural diversity | Unit: St. Patrick | Death/Loss |
Graphic novels | Wordless books | Ethics: Sharing |
LGBT | Moving house | Bullying |
Physical impairment | Intellectual disability | Unit: Halloween |
Unit: The Famine | Stereotypes | Manners |
