Freely available online statistics databases like Ireland's Central Statistics Office or the EU's Eurostat are great sources of market research data. In them you can find information on consumer spending, demographic patterns, markets etc.
For example, the CSO can tell you current the consumer price index by sector, or Eurostat can show your ownership levels for products like cars and mobile phones by country or by age.
